Well, seeing as that we now seem to get letters here and there, I thought it was time for us to have a section of the zine dedicated to exactly that. I plan on putting in the good, bad, and the ugly when it comes to this area. You are all entitled to have your opinions heard, and if you don't have the time to write your own column, then why not just drop us a quick line? If I have interest in printing your letter, I will ask your permission via-email before I print it. If you automatically want it in the webzine, just let me know when you write us. You are welcome to remain anonymous, and we will not post your e-mail address, no matter how mean you are. You can reach us right here.. -Pac |
Haha--- please forgive my rat-basteriddy like
e-mail.
I post this in hopes that you be ill enough to read my e-mail. Forgive my ignorance, but please explain all your frustration. I never really can understand all the negative feedback that the BE community dumps on certain individuals. All I can figure out is if you're good people get pissed that you don't contribute 24/7. Now what touched my nerve was your comment on people complaining about the background at the Forum. I was one of those people, but I thought I did it in a semi-sorta nice request. Me personally- I think members have every right to make our requests known. (NOTE please forgive me clulessness on this subject I only kept up with the subject for a little while, and I thought what was said was just a harmless discussion.) I know I'm not stupid. I know how this site works. I also know that we live in an imperfect world and you have to deal with the crap before you get to eat your cake. BUT Pac you mustn't let those people get under your skin. I've posted five stories here at the archive and from what little feed back I received most people seem to like them. Yet I hardly ever get any feed back when I post a new story. It's really kinda frustrating. I guess being a morpher who has his own section, you end up getting a lot more comments. But I think bad or good- it doesn't matter at least you know people like looking at your stuff or they wouldn't bitch. Seeya, Blake The forum background debate was simply an example of something that has had me irritated as of late. I didn't mean it if it seemed like that subject was being singled out in particular. Sometimes the harmless discussions get dragged on for too long. What I was trying to convey was that in the big scheme of things, the background color of the forum is trivial in comparison to things like adding new galleries and encouraging those who put time into the galleries they already have. I just feel that people at the BEA nit-pick too much, and it comes off like they don't appreciate the BEA for what it is. Please take note that this was just being used as an example. I am glad you took the time to email me your thoughts. I know for a fact that the BEA webmaster does read what we post, and tries to do his best. I just wish that some people could communicate their thoughts about the site without it sounding like unbridled bashing. -Pac I've never heard more whiny, self-serving crap in my entire life. I have been going to the BEA for a lot longer than you've been around. There have been times that I can afford the membership, and times that I can't. I've seen great morphers come and go, and I have seen first hand the shit people bring this way. But what are you gonna do about it? You think one lousy article out of your dirt rag is gonna make any difference? Bullshit. Just let it go! Since the creation of the Internet everything's been going down hill and it's only gonna get worse. If I ever see you on the street I'm gonna "kung-fu kick you too hell". Your "web-zine" isn't even that good! I hope to never see it again. The first slap in the face was yanking it from Scotty's because you just can't deal with the pop-up's. The second was this ridiculous article. You need to suck it up and realize that the general public are complete morons. I still remain a fan of your morphs. Top notch high quality stuff. But stick to that.... or please change the attitude problem when it comes to your webzine. -SpooN- P.S. The crack about Netscape users was just wrong... don't forget, you're here for the public... don't piss them off First of all, thanks for at least taking the time to write. That shows you actually care enough about what you think to make your points valid. I'll touch an a few of things that you mentioned in an effort to provide my point of view to you. You've been at the BEA longer than I have? Fantastic. Then that means I can even more so take your opinion and use at as a valid point. At least you aren't some Johnny-come-lately who thinks he knows at all. Once again, I'd rather hear from someone like you than than the latter. I never claimed I WAS going to DO anything about the things I mentioned in my column, it's an opinion column. The whole point is to say whatever is on my mind. I'm not aiming to start a revolution, or for anyone else to agree with me. Just to state how I feel out in the open rather than complain about it behind people's backs. As far as the webzine not being that good, I don't take that to heart either. I'm well aware of the area's that need improvement, and hope to fix many of those areas as things progress. I'm sorry to hear that you hope to never see Thanks again. If you don't like what you read by me personally, I encourage you to still give a chance to some of the people who donate their columns and time to Thanks. They represent themselves. I hardly consider disliking pop-ups and not wanting my site to have them a slap in the face, but once again you are entitled to your own opinion and that's perfectly fine in my book. And yes, I do need to suck it up and realize that the general public are morons. But I don't plan on doing that overnight either. Had I written this column 2 years ago, I can assure you it would have been much worse than it was now. I've grown to deal with people slowly but surely, and still have growing to do. Thanks for being a fan of my morphs... I've put a lot of time and effort into them and rarely get feedback. As far as me sticking to just morphing, that isn't going to happen anytime soon. My attitude in this last issue reflected my mood as of late, and rest assured that not every issue will have me spouting off as I did in this one. The Netscape problem has been fixed for the moment, so I wouldn't expect much complaining to happen in that area for a while. And while Thanks is indeed open for the public, it's also a public forum where people can state what they feel. (including you) I don't expect everyone to even remotely like what we have to say. But put it this way, if the backlash was there, and the vast majority of people were offended by something in Thanks, I would remove the offending material in a heartbeat. If the demand for thanks to be shut down was that high, I would take it down with a smile on my face and no regrets. Take notice that If you wrote an article about how wrong I was in the last issue and said you wanted me to print it in the next issue, I'd do it. And remember, I did state that what people were about to read would be the most unprofessional column I had ever written. And that's exactly what it was. I seriously appreciate you writing. I can't know what people like and dislike without that feedback, so while your letter may have been a complaint and even contained a threat directed towards me, I look at it as a valuable piece of information I can use in an effort to improve the webzine. -Pacman I just got done reading the random thoughts page of the new webzine and may I just say that the world needs more cynical, smart ass, sarcastic people like you in it. Everyone needs a good boot of truth to the head once in a while and so far, you the only one doing it. I can sympathize with people breathing down your neck and twisting words with you. A long time ago (in a galaxy far, far, away {damn you for putting that star wars reference in your webzine}) I posted a simple solution to a problem with the adventure and got called a fascist pig. Well, that overreaction pushed me to lurk. Digress. Pacman the short and sweet of it is this, you have balls of solid brass and the size of cantaloupes. I salute you! P.S. Don't attempt to shove a watermelon up your own ass without some form of lubrication, it'll chaff like the dickens! -Anonymous by request Thank you, and I will consider lubrication in the future. -Pac Just now checking out your place, and seeing my pic "eDDnatalia" with a comment was very cool. I really don't spend a lot of time anymore posting and trying to get better because it all seems so different now. Back when Chili use to hand out weekly awards I enjoyed trying to "make the list". So thank's again....and now I'm gonna dust off my Photoshop book and try to figure out how to get the edges right. Later, eDD Awesome! Not only nice is it that artists are reading, they are also taking pointers provided without getting angry! We gotta start doing more of this constructive criticism stuff! -Pac
