" and checked to see that the Retroactive Flag was up. It was.
The PC made the change.
As far as anyone (within the 60 mile range of the PC at least) was concerned, Ranma-chan had stood there after Shampoo's 'Kiss Of Death' had been given. (She'd been so stunned that she couldn't move.)
Though it was forbidden to speak of it, the Kiss Of Death was rarely fatal. It was more a thing of intent, as Shampoo had given it to Akane and even her own "sisters" at one point. If the recipient ran, then she was deemed a coward and the Amazon had to chase her down, defeat her in battle, and then demand her servitude for a year. After which a bottle of formula 110 would provide a convenient memory gap dealing with the Kiss Of Death.
If she stood her ground, however, then the girl was brave enough to be adopted into the tribe.
Now everyone remembered Ranma-chan standing her ground, a great party (new Amazon is big honor), and Shampoo cussing a blue streak when she found out that her new sister was actually a cute guy and she could've had a new husband.
Instead Shampoo had shown up to visit her sister/brother and see some of the world, and had been around as "Ranma's weird foreign sister". Cologne had followed to teach Ranma some special moves and something of Amazon laws and responsibilities, and if ever the tribe was in trouble - Ranma would be expected to drop everything and come to its aid.
Shampoo was not a fiancee, but had been Ranma's best friend since that village visit. She did not approve of Ranma marrying Akane, as Akane had too little self control and a vicious temper. Plus possessive and she had all the wrong things in common with Ranma. No, the only way Shampoo would approve of Ranma marrying Akane was if Ranma also married a few other girls at the same time to balance her out. Was only proper for Amazon Champion to prove he was really a man among men!
The entire family Tendo remembered Shampoo. She was that nice (if a gaijin) girl who was Ranma's buddy. She got along pretty well with Nabiki (when the middle Tendo could be restrained from her more mercenary tendencies) and had actually become Kasumi's friend. The two going out shopping or something, though so far Shampoo had been unsuccessful in trying to get Kasumi to take up the martial arts again. Soun remembered Shampoo and especially Cologne as showing up to foil various plots by Happosai, but also opposing Ranma's marriage to Akane as Akane was a "violent pervert maniac" (Shampoo's phrase) and not good enough for Ranma. Akane remembered Shampoo as the dispenser of countless wedgies. Shampoo said it was to show Akane's need to develop higher speed, but Akane knew that the stupid gaijin bimbo whore was just making fun of her again. Genma remembered the feast.
Cologne was at the Nekohanten and wondering if she ought to teach Ranma the pressure point/massage technique: "The Point Of No Return" which was actually marital arts but might be enough to convince Kasumi or Nabiki to have a go at that Tendo/Saotome alliance.
