When Ranma got to the table, everyone was already there except Akane. A moment later she arrived... floating and passing right through the wall. "Hi Darling!" she said, giving Ranma a loving hug. Ranma was struck speechless and his jaw dropped. Akane looked almost like her normal uncute self, except she had short nubby horns, a long pointed tail and when she smiled, very sharp looking teeth. Seeing Ranma's shocked expression, Akane looked puzzled. "Darling, is something wrong?" When he didn't answered, she frowned and her eyes started to glow. "Has another girl been after you again? Who IS she?"
Ranma did his best to smile and not shake. "Uh, no, of course not... *gulp*... darling. You just startled me, that's all."
"You don't have to be so jealous, Akane," Nabiki said casually. "After the things you did to the first few, no female in school will dare look at Ranma. Not even the teachers."
Akane was suddenly pleasant and smiling again. "And that's how it should be. Ranma is my fiancé, right darling?"
"Yep," Ranma squeeked.
"Sit down you two," Soun instructed. "I'm hungry." Some things hadn't changed.
Still stunned, Ranma sat down with Akane next to him. He idly wondered why Kasumi was already seated, but there was no food on the table. Ranma didn't know he was in for another shock.
